Shane and Matt two brothers from Down Under in Australia started their company V12LS to build a V12 Based on the GM LS1 engine. The made there prototype from two LS1 engines chopped and welded together. The 580-cubic inch (9.5 Lt) V12 prototype uses the stock internals from the LS1 produced well over 700 horsepower and 600lb-ft on the initial Dino runs on pump fuel. The engine uses the LS’1 stock bore and stroke, stock piston and rods and many other GM parts.

The first V12Ls prototype was showcased at the 2016 SEMA show, where it was installed in a custom 1967 Chevrolet Camaro built by Quality Custom Rides. The company is now producing the engine in Australia, with pricing starting at a whopping $21,000. The production versions are made of custom one-piece cast iron or aluminum blocks. There is a 600hp base engine package, a Stage 2 at over 700hp, a planned Stage 3 package with LS7 Heads at over 1,000hp and there are also future plans for a forced induction package.
Figuring out how to fit the engine in your engine bay may require some work. The mounting spacing is the same distance from the rear of the engine as the v8, but the v12 is 8.8 inches longer compared to the stock LS1.
